The California Business and Professions Code (7197-7199) prohibits home inspectors from performing or offering to perform any work for an additional fee on a structure that they have inspected for a period of at least twelve months after completing the inspection. This section of the code is designed to avoid any conflict of interest, or any appearance of impropriety. Obviously, inspectors who make repairs to homes they inspect could be more likely to “find” defects.
In addition, I do not have any financial ties with, or ownership of, or any interest in any real estate company.
